Introduction
The tdsvisitor back office system is portlet driven software that runs on a web browser. The user utilises menu links to simultaneously open and position any number of data portlets on a working webpage. All of the portlets operate in the same straightforward manner thus enabling the user to become comfortable using the system quickly.
This section of the user manual provides an overview of the functionality used throughout tdsvisitor menus and portlets.
1. Open a web browser and select the tdsvisitor back office link.
Chrome, Firefox, Opera, or Safari browsers can be used.
2. The browser will pick up the current user and display: name, username, role (in brackets – determines what access rights the user has) and photo at the top right of the screen.
Most commonly tdsvisitor will be configured to use the login credentials for the organisation. In this case, Sign In screen will be presented first if the user is not currently logged into their account.
All users of tdsvisitor are initially granted the default role. This gives the user restricted access to only Quick Register and Help. A user with manager role rights needs to use the Admin > User Management portlet and setup the user on tdsvisitor with the correct role.
3. Click on the arrow next to the photo to see available options.

- Default Location: set to automatically reduce the data displayed in portlets when they open. If a default location is selected this is displayed in the portlet’s heading and the data filter can be cleared through the more options button on the individual portlets.
- Clear Dashboard: closes all open tabs and portlets within tdsvisitor. When tdsvisitor launches in future, the portlets open and their corresponding position will be the same as when the system was last closed.
- Change Password: this option will only display for organisations that are not using Single Sign On.
- Sign Out: if the system's account is vinculated to the organisation one, this will sign out both.
