Visitor Access - RFID Badge

For Sites using RFID badges (rfid_ind setting on), after the Visitor is checked in and has a label printed the Assign access button will be enabled, allowing users to assign badges and access groups through Guest Dashboard.

Assign badge and access rights

1. Click the Access Action button;

2. Click the Assign Access button;

3. Assign Access popup will be presented. Fill out required fields:

  • Badge Number - must be a unique identifier; an error shows if a number already assigned to another person is entered.
  • Access Group - select one or multiple access groups; if your user role has a default access group configured for Visitors then this will be loaded by default in the combo (see User Role Management section).
  • Active Date Time - date from which the badge will be valid (loaded with actual date and time by default).
  • Expiry Date Time - date in which the badge will expire; the default loaded is usually 24hs from the actual date/time.

4. Click Assign to confirm the operation, or Cancel to abort it.

Change site status manually

If tdsvisitor has the settings swipe_on_site_on_mutate and swipe_off_site_on_check_out turned on, visitors are marked onsite/offsite automatically when checked in or checked out - swipes display on Access Log indicating the operation. However, if those settings are off then user must perform the status change manually.

1. Click the Access Action button;

2. Click the Site Status toggle;

3. A confirmation dialog shows with the current status of the Guest, and the status that the change will apply.

4. Click Yes to confirm the operation, or No to abort it.

Reclaim Visitor badge

1. Click the Access Action button;

2. To reclaim a badge by person, click the Reclaim Access button;

3. A confirmation dialog will be presented. Click Yes to confirm the reclaim or No to abort it.

Once a badge has been reclaimed, its badge number is available to be used again.
